Ever since she had a huge hit last year with 'Bitch', her first single, Meredith Brooks, the American singer/songwriter has been constantly on the road. Now I managed to catch up with her on one of her brief jaunts in London.

So do you miss home when you're away?
Yeah, um, not so much anymore cos its my 5th or 6th time in Europe. I'm getting to know everybody here, you know, the people I work with and I, I actually am having fun this time, my whole band's over, I have limited my interviews to just, you know a couple a day which is totally different from which what its been like the last year, and I'm playing. I'm playing a full on rock show for an hour and half every night to packed crowds, so that finally, its like the reward of working hard for a year, I get to go finally on tour.
....just when you think you got me figured out/ the seasons already changing...
Do you enjoy touring?
I'm a tour baby, I've been on a bus since I was 15, a van and a hotel. I like the way I'm doing it now better, I like staying at the hotels I stay at better, I like the buses I have better, um, I love that I play to packed venues and people know my lyrics which shocks me, every time!! Especially if I screw up the lyrics and they're singing the right lyrics its like, oh god!! (makes a weird facial expression)
So how come that must be so funny...

No, no, what I do is I pretend that they've gotten a very unique Meredith Brooks rendition! ( laughs )

Let's talk about the single, now firstly the video, phew! ...Hel-lo!
I wanted to show the psyche of a woman, um, wrestling with temptation and I put everything into the video.
And what about the guy?
I thought he was amazing. The worst part for me is I see why actors have affairs, I mean, he left, right, he got paid and I'm standing there going.... (blank face) .....isn't this the beginning of a relationship?! I mean it felt like it for 3 days making out with some guy, that just, 'thanks for the cheque! Bye!' I'm like... (sits in a frozen position with a weird face) OK this really sucks!!
