The Dear America Diaries is a lovely series of books for girls ages 9-12.
They are historical fiction books that cover many different periods in our nation's history,
and are written in the form of a diary of a young girl of that time.
We have the whole series in our school library and they are very popular.
They are very nice quality, and would make a beautiful gift for your favorite young lady.

Fantasy

The Chronicles of Narnia

If you want to start out with just one book, instead of the whole set,
try: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The Holocaust

The Hiding Place is the story of a Christian woman, Corrie ten Boom, who was imprisoned in a concentration camp because her family hid Jewish people from the Nazis. It is the most beautiful story you will ever read in your life!
The second volume contains Corrie ten Boom's three books:
The Hiding Place, Tramp for the Lord, and Jesus is Victor.
