Imagine yourself in a dark room the size of your worst fear. All you can hear are the
screams from the other fans in the room, all crowded and awaiting Shakira. Pretty
soon you feel a vibration on the seat from the stopping on the ground while
everyone is shouting out at the top of their lungs "Shakira! Shakira! Shakira!",
when suddenly it is completley dark. Everyone goes silent as if awaiting their
judgement. The person next to you asks you if you know what's going on and
you shrug your soldiers, when suddenly you start hearing a noise off in the
distance. With every pump of your heart the sound becomes louder and louder
as it comes closer and closer to you. Looking around and waiting to see what
that noise is, you realize it is the sound of a roaring helicopter that is about to
land. Where's the helicopter, though? No one can see it, but everyone
hears it. Round and round the noise goes bouncing off one wall to
another. Just when you can't take it any longer and the noise is becoming
so intense that you are ready to scream, a light shines in the middle of the room. The sound of the
helicopter begins to drift away while another sound replaces. It's the sound of some song, but no one
knows what it is. Then you hear the people around you scream in excitment, not knowing what's going
on you look towards the light to see what's happening, until you realize that Shakira
has arrived! You realize that the music playing is "Donde Estan Los Ladrones?".
Everyone begins clapping to the sound of the beat and sings along with her in
happiness and harmony. After an hour and a half this, the lights suddenly go out
again and you begin to fear what will happen next. People on the other side
of the room start chanting "ANOTHER! ANOTHER! ANOTHER!". Slowly the rest
of the audience joins in the chanting in hopes that Shakira might come back on
stage and sing at least one more song. Then the chanting is stopped by silence
and then by screaming when Shakira comes out again. She finishes off the night
with "Ojos Asi" by putting on a skirt over her pants. She sings, dances,
and keeps the audience intrigued all at the same time, until she finishes the
song and gives her final thanks. The audience does not bother chanting for another song, but
instead thinks about what a wonderful performance it was and hope that they might be able to see this
legendary woman once again.
