Growltiger

Growltiger was a bravo cat who travelled on a barge.
In fact, he was the roughest cat that ever roamed at large.
From Gravesend up to Oxford he pursued his evil aims, Rejoicing in his title of the "Terros of the Thames".
His manners and appearance did not calculate to please.
His coat was torn and seedy, it was baggy at the knees.
One ear was somewhat missing, no need to tell you why,
And he scowlet upon a hostile world from one forbidding eye.

Growltiger is a cat who scares relly everyone. He lives on a boat
and looks terrible: One ear and one eye are missing and his coat is torn and looks awful!

He is cruel to everyone, especially to other rasses, like Siamese
(who are the cause for his missing ear!).

Growltiger, the self-proclaimed "Terror of the Thames," is the ruthless
captain of a pirate barge. When he isn't terrorizing his ragtag crew
or romancing Griddlebone, he is showing off.
You'd think him ready to play with "the Three Tenors" the way he carries on!
Unfortunately, Growltiger's bark is worde than his bite, and he
disapched by Genghis/Gilbert, leader of the Siamese Cats.

Maybe he is cruel, but he has also a weak side,
which he shows only to Lady Griddlebone. While they are together
singing and concentrating on themselves, the Siamese enter Growltiger's boat.
Griddlebone can escape, but Growltiger has to walk over the plank
for all the bad things he did to the Siamese and all the other cats!

However, Growltiger is just a role that Gus has played.
When Growltiger has to "walk the plank" at the end of the number and jump offstage,
he lands on a mattress or mat (we hope his aim is good!), never fear.

Growltiger is invariably played by the actor playing Asparagus.

Growltiger's scene was completely cut from the Cats Video.
