Album Review:
Nebraska is by far Bruce Springsteen's bleakest album. To start out, 2 of the songs, "Nebraska" and "Johnny 99" are about Murderers. The rest of the songs deal with the troubles of life and the bleak outlook of it. The closing song "Reason To Believe" gives a much needed message of hope, and ironically does it by mentioning even more heartbreak. Truly, this album is not one for everybody. But for a Springsteen fan it is a must, as it was not made with the E-street band, but rather with a steel stringed guitar and a harmonica. The messages are bleak, but their solemnity puts things in their proper place. Its look into the struggles men face, whether ordinary or extraordinary, is something that can't be ignored. This is why "Nebraska" is considered not only one of Springsteen's best, but one of the best of its entire genre.
