Album Review:
Much like the album Nebraska in terms of instruments, The Ghost of Tom Joad is an acoustic album, far from "Born In The U.S.A." pinache and power, this is a very solemn and simple album. However, this should not be confused with a poor album, as it was rewarded a Grammy as "Folk Album of the Year." It is a song about those who were left behind in the world's progression. The title song is named after Tom Joad from Steinbeck's "The Grapes Of Wrath." There are many tales of war veterans, poor farmers and struggling men who struggle along their journey. This is a very bleak album, but is a reccomended buy not only for the Springsteen fan, but for those wanting to get a look at the sides of life you don't want to think about.
