It's shocking, but true, and we (being me DieScully, and Alyen, the one who does nothing) don't like to admit it. You figure "they spend time on those boy bands and they'll eventually like them." But, you're wondering who this boy band is, right? I'll tell you but not quite yet. First I will tell you the story of the boy band the best I know it (some minor details will be made up)without using names or dates. And if you know your boy band history, you'll figure out who it is. To make this especially easy, I'll even have pictures of the band members at the bottom, but then again, they never became hugely popular in the US, so you might not be able to recognize them. But I think I'll be nice and I'll have a link at the bottom to a page with more pictures and names and information. But you better not just scroll down and go to the link cause that wouldn't be fun now would it?
The owner of a couple popular fashion shops in London wanted to cash in on the latest growing music trend, so he decided to start a band to help promote his fashion designs.
Unlike many other boy bands, he wanted his band to play their own instruments and write their own songs. When he found out that someone who worked in one of his stores wanted to start a band he found people to join. The first two people recruited were two guys who wanted to start their own band. So far, the manager had a bass player, (don't know if he could play) a drummer, (maybe he could play) and a guitarist (who later said he only knew one chord.) The one thing that they needed was a singer. The manager wanted someone loud, angry, and rude. Their "dream singer" was actually found in the manager's store. No one knew if he could sing, and none of them knew him, but everyone knew of his attitude. So the band was complete, they just needed to learn how to play and they all needed instruments.
The band obtained their equipment illegally (the guitarist supposedly stole it.) They kicked out the bass player because he was thought of as a "mummie's boy" this was however, after he wrote parts of many of their songs and got kicked off a few labels. They found a new bass player in one of their biggest fans, also a friend of the singer's. The manager thought he was perfect, his style, his attitude, everything except for one thing...he couldn't play bass at all.
They eventually stayed on a record company long enough to record an album which debuted at #1 on the UK pop charts. Soon, they went to the US to support their album, sadly they broke up during the tour after playing in San Francisco due to infighting.
