On the tenth, me and Alyen went to Not So Silent Night, a concert held by Live 105, the alternative station here in San Fransisco. The bands that were supposed to be there were: 311, Blink 182, Filter, Foo Fighters, and Bush. BUT, someone in Foo was sick so they weren't there, so I almost cried 'cause I wanted to see them so badly. Oh well, I'll see them in spring, so I'll get to the review now.
The first band was Filter, they did "Welcome to the Fold," "Trip Like I Do," "Hey Man Nice Shot," "Take a Picture," and a bunch of songs I don't know. I had one arm over the barrier and people behind me did too, and they were sticking their elbows in my throat so I couldn't breathe and I was squished. It was so much fun, Filter was really good and the singer, Richard Patrick made weird faces all the time and all of the stupid teenie boppers were being shoved around and crowd surfers fell on them. When Filter was over, I was pushed out of my spot because people continued shoving eachother and I couldn't breathe anymore, so I asked some guy to pick me up so the securtiy people could pull me over. When I got out, I got soda and walked around the venue.
When Blink 182 started, I threw the soda away and shoved my way into the crowd, so I was 20 feet from Mark's side of the stage. Blink did "All the Small Things," "Dammit," "What's My Age Again?" and some song I don't know the name of, but they siad "don't leave me all alone, just drop me off at home." I'm sorry, but Tom sounds like a five year old and he and Mark talk like them 'cause every other word was "fart" or else they were swearing. They were really funny, but I don't think they were as good as Filter was.
After Blink, I found Alyen and we got more soda and looked at what they were selling at the stores there. We saw a BSB patch with a bunch if Pantera and Metallica patches and thought it was weird. We also saw *NSYNC and Ricky Martin keychains and made fun of them. 311 was the next band, I think Foo was supposed be before them but as I said earlier, they cancelled. Alyen and I don't like 311 since they were cool in 7th grade and became overplayed, we walked around, but watched "All Mixed Up."
Bush was next, and all of the teenie boppers that say they don't like Kevin or Chris 'cause they're too old ran up to see Gavin, who is 32, but the youngest in Bush. They started with "Everything Zen," and all of the teenies ran out 'cause of all of the moshing. Bush did "Greedy Fly," "Glycerine," "Swallowed," "Chemicals Between Us," "Machine Head," "Little Things," "Come Down" and two songs off their new album. During "Come Down," a beach ball almost hit Gavin, but he ducked. One thing I noticed was that Gavin spits all the time and it was really gross. At the end, Gavin lifted up his shirt, but I don't think he should have because he's really pale and needs 5ive's tan in a can. I think Bush was probably the best band there and I really want to see them again.
Outside we were waiting for Jenny, and when she got there, she started to make fun of Gavin by saying he was gay and going out with Robin Goodrigde, the drummer whom she calls "Gayvin's Brother" because she thinks they look alike. Overall, it was a great concert and I was happy that Gavin's hair wasn't bright red anymore because it was ugly.
