CATHERINE McCORD
When Diane Farr left “Loveline” at the end of last season, the show’s producers interviewed over 200 possible replacements. Ironically, they picked the first girl who auditioned: former Elite model-turned-actress Catherine McCord. “I was so excited,” recalled McCord in a recent Gear magazine interview. “But my parents were horrified. My mother called me after one of the first episodes and said, ‘So, when did you become so knowledgeable about oral sex?’ But she’s okay with it now. She tapes the show and watches it the next morning. One time, the tape was stopped in the middle, and it turned out my dad was going down in the middle of the night and rewinding the tape and watching it. My mother said to him, ‘You don’t need to know about sex. Go back to bed.’”
McCord, who was discovered by Elite Model Management at age 14, has appeared on the cover of such magazines as Elle and Glamour, while strutting the runway for designers like Calvin Klein, Victoria’s Secret, and Donna Karan. She followed that with appearances on Melrose Place and entertainment reporting gigs for Extra! and Entertainment Tonight. Does she buy into her own hype? Let’s put it this way, back when Elite spotted her in the local mall, the stunning McCord said, “You’ve totally picked the wrong girl! I’m 14 years old and I’m a dork.’” Hot and humble? We’re not worthy.
