Gunston
Hall, 26 October 1950, during the
Korean War. She is enroute to the Wonson
invasion area, one of the many ships in the
invasion convoy. A good view of the stern area
of the LSD.
The
Gunston Hall is seen in early 1967 off San Diego,
conducting training exercises. A Patrol Air Cushion
Vehicle (PACV) is seen leaving the well deck.
PACVs were used during the Vietnam War and were
especially useful in the Mekong River delta.
