The Angel and the Christmas Tree
It was supposed to be a happy time, but it wasn't. Santa was angry. It
was Christmas Eve and EVERYTHING was going wrong! Mrs. Claus burned
all the cookies. The elves were griping about overtime. The reindeer
had been drinking all afternoon and were slobering drunk, and had taken the
sleigh out for a spin earlier and wrecked it.
Santa was furious. "I can't believe it! I've got to deliver millions
of presents in just a few hours and the sleigh is wrecked, my reindeer
are totally sloshed, the elves are on strike and I don't even have a
Christmas tree! I sent out that stupid little angel out HOURS ago to
find a tree and she isn't even back yet!"
Santa was enraged!
Just then, the little angel opened the front door and stepped in from
the snowy night. Nonchalantly dragging a Christmas tree, she casually
said, "Yo, Santa, where do you want me to stick the Christmas tree this
year?"
And thus the tradition of Angels perched atop the Christmas tree came to
pass.
