John Tomlin's prized possession was his truck. He worked hard after school to pay for it. He loved God with all his heart and was always trying to convince someone to go to youth group with him. John was quiet at first with someone new but as you got to know him his smile was easy and always present. His truck became a memorial to him in the Columbine parking lot as did Rachel Scott's car.
John had dreams of joining the army after he graduated and defending the country that he loved. He was looking forward to enlisting. He studied every lunch period in the library which is where he lost his life. It may not have been in defense of this country that he died, but he is a hero all the same.
