Change
I think we all
Have a fear of change
The unknown replacing what
We are comfortable with
Even when things are not happy
It is sometimes easier to
Just let it stay this way
Than to make a major change
Most times when we make
This major change
We can't ever go back
We burn the bridges as we cross them
What if after we get to
This new place in our lives
We are not happy
Do we have to change again
We have all heard the saying
The grass is greener on the other side
And know that it is often
Said in sarcasm
What do we do?
Stay where we are and stagnate?
Never move forward
Never grow and be happy?
Make the change and
Be worse off than we are?
Find out that we
Really wanted what we had?
For us to make
A change requires hope
And at times
We feel there is none
It takes courage
To make that first step
A huge leap of faith
That things can be better
We try to think it all out
Look at all the options
Weigh all the pros and cons
To make a plan
Sometimes we think
Ourselves right into a corner
Right back to the place
We are now
There are no guarantees
That things will be better
No way to see the future
But I ask could they be worse
Is a huge change required
Or a lot of small ones
The small ones are easier
Little steps towards a big change
Could we not keep the good
Of what we have
Or must we leave it all behind
And loose the good and the bad
Change for better or worse
Is a life long decision
And should never
Be done lightly
