Untitled
UNTITLED

Scenario:
You're in your bedroom
On your bed
Looking up at the ceiling
Everything around you is dark
Except for the dim light coming in through your window
You lie there, still as stone
Coming no nearer to your goal
Your everlasting quest for sleep
Still, you lie there
Not knowing what else to do
Just lie there
You glance over at the clock--
2:34
You've been there for some time
You've been there before
You've been there all too often
And now you're there again
Slowly
The time passes
Seconds
Minutes
Hours
You feel empty
Cold
Your insides begin to freeze
Your blood runs cold as ice
Beads of sweat freeze to your forehead
The little that's left of your exhausted brain ceases to function
Your nerves freeze
Crack
And then shatter into tiny little shards
But you remain still
Still
Meanwhile
The fragments of your nerves collide
And sparks begin to fly deep inside you
The sparks begin to burn away your insides like napalm
Your blood heats up
And begins to boil, coarsing through the remains
Of your veins
Gushing out of the frayed ends
Sending an incredible sensation of pain through your body
You want to scream
But you don't
Someone might hear you
And you wouldn't want that
Once again, you look over at the accursed clock
After what seems to be a few sleepless days of hell
2:37
You close your eyes and look away
When will it end?
