The Colts
This is just a little warm up. I will accept the challenage on the box the game came in and take the Colts the Super Bowl. Late
The new 1991 regular season started out with a clash of ineptude from the early 90’s. The Patriots and the Colts.
The Colts offense dominated this one. Rookie Jeff George hit 4 different receivers for touchdowns and Albert the Total Package Bentley got loose on 7 carries for 227 yards. A staggering 32 yds per carry. The nonexistent Colts defense was exposed as the Pat’s ran for over 180 yards and 3 touchdowns. (The A button that you use to tackle is very flawed on my 13 year old controller) Final score was Your Colts 38, Pats 21.
Notes: Pats Grogan was held for under 100 yards. Colts kick returner, Clarence Verdin, was injured in the 2nd quarter with The Package taking over for his duty.

Before the game, Coach Rome expressed concern about Miami’s Tony Paige saying “He’s a bulldozer, my linebackers are shit…not very reinsuring.’’ True to those words, Paige on the first drive took a handoff from Marino and broke one for 55 yards, stomping a mudhole into two Colts. Clarence Verdin, fresh out of the hospital, received the kickoff and proceeded to fumble it away. Marino went back to the well again and Paige scored his 2nd TD. There was still no concern coming from the Colts’ sideline seeing as it was still in the first quarter.
The Colt’s offense finally took the field only to see Jeff George force a long ball, which was picked off by Jarvis Williams. After a Reggie Roby punt, the Colts went to their well. Albert the Total Package Bentley carried the ball down for 15, then up 12 and then straight-ahead for 8 yards. After two nothing plays, George found a wide-open Bill Brooks 35 yards and the score. 14-7 at the half.
Things started out badly for the Colts as George hit Jarvis Williams again. Miami par laid that into a field goal after trying to hit Mark Clayton in the end zone three consecutive times. Late in the third, George found Jessie Hester cutting up on the goal line in coverage for the touchdown. Marino started the fourth by getting sacked on 3rd and 4. The Colts responded with Bill Brooks slipping by the defense for a 45-yard gain down to the 1. George then found the Package out of the backfield for the go ahead touchdown. 21-17.
It came down to one last drive for Marino and he remembered who got them there. On 3rd and long he hit Paige over the middle for 14. Next play, Paige over the middle again for 30. The Dolphins were on the 20 with little time left. Marino once again found Paige over the middle, put the spineless defenders that are the Colts gang tackled him at the 9 for the victory.
Notes: George 3 TD 2 INT Bentley 7 carries 99 yards. Paige 8 carries 100 yards. Marino held under 100 yards.

The newspapers all had the Raiders winning this match up of the top two rushing teams in the league. With Bo Knows Hip Replacements Jackson and Marcus The Ageless One Allen expected to have a record-breaking day against the A-buttonless Colts D. After a four and out by the Raiders, Bill Brooks got sneaky once again and slipped by everyone for a 55 yards TD. Back to back play actions set up an Allen 14 yard TD. But once again the Darth Raiders had no answer to Brooks’ sneakiness has he goes unnoticed down the sideline for a 60 yard TD reception. Allen, not to be out done, takes the next play 85 yards to tie the game back up. An impressive Colts drive one possession later hits pay dirt as George founds a diving Pat Beach for 6. Allen goes officially punk by running through and around the Colts D for a freakin 96-yard run to end the half and tie things up.
Bentley, after three good gains, fumbles and Greg Townsend recovers and plows his way in for the touchdown. George, playing like a man, hits Jessie Hester for a 75 yard TD. I have a feeling both defenses will be working hard next week in practice after this offensive explosion. After forcing a 3 and out, the Colts take the lead on an Albert Bentley 65 yard juke and jive. White Guy Prior intercepts a rare Darth Raider pass which promptly leads to a 52 yard TD reception by Wild Bill Brooks to cap off the scoring as the Colts’ D plays a tough 4th and gives up nothing. Colts win in a barnburner.
Colts 42
Raiders 28
Notes: Bentley 8 for 85. Allen 7 for 186. Bo was nonexistent. Jeff George played his greatest game ever. Completing 100% for 338. Absolute Perfection. Wild Bill had 3 catches, 3 td, and 166 yards. Only 10 first downs were made. Mervyn, yes, Mervyn Fernadez carried the Raiders passing attack, 3 for 120. 2 INT by Jay Schroeder might have doomed Raider Fan.
After reviewing the Colts and Raiders game from last Sunday, league officals offered an apology to the Raider orginazation. While veiwing video, they noticed Colts reciever Bill Brooks never actually lined-up at the line of scrimmage. Instead he was 30 yards down field on the Colts sideline and then would step onto the field unnoticed. This tactic apparently lead to 3 touchdowns for the sneaky reciever. When asked about the illegal play, Brooks simply said, "I'm sneaky...very sneaky." And then tip-toed his way out of the room.
Week 4 saw the Colts going against the Barry Sanders led Detroit Lions. Both officials and fans promised to keep an eye out for the sneaky Bill Brooks while he was inside the Silver Dome.
Jeff George continued his masterful ways and connected with Jessie Hester on the first play for a 59-yard gain down to the 1. George then used his youthfulness and scored on a qb sneak. After a 3 and out, The Package led the Colts to a lengthy drive that saw him receiving a 5-yard td pass to open up the 2nd quarter. Things were going good for the Colts’ D until Barry started feeling good and broke one for 77 yards. His first carry of the game. The Lions then got all up in Jeff George’s area and sacked him 4 times on the next drive, even blocking a pass, George’s first incomplete pass in 5 quartes. The Colts had to settle on 3 by Dean Biasucci. White Guy Prior ended the half intercepting a Rodney Peete bomb.
George continued to be harassed by the Lions. Getting sacked twice on 3 plays and leading to the first punt of the year for punter Starks. Eddie Murray tacked on a field goal to end the 3rd. The next possession got Coach Rome heated. The first play saw George hit the ground again and the next saw a lazy pass to Ivy Joe Hunter picked off by a flying Bennie Blades. Peete then made his second mistake of the game. Going to the bottom back corner of the endzone, Peete lofted a pass into a triple covered Greer. The outcome was another INT. The Colts put the game away after a 10 carry 70 yard drive by Bentley that ended in a Biasucci field goal. Fans were left wondering why Barry touched the ball only 4 times.
Colts 20
Lions 10
Notes: Barry Sanders 4 for 117, Albert Bentley 17 for 124 and 4 catches for 65. Peete was 30% 68 yrds and 2 INT. Bill Brooks was nowhere to be found.
Going into week 5, the Colts had the number 1 rated passer, the receiver averageing a sneaky 47 yards a catch and the number 1 running back. Would it continue against a 2-2 Seahawks team? Jeff George was overheard saying that Wild Bill was so sneaky last week, not even he could tell if Brooks was on the field or not. Seahawks QB Dave Krieg was reported looking around the Seahawks locker room for revcievers that were willing to jump 10 feet into the air to catch a ball.
Ground Chuck Offense took control as John ‘’The Composer’’ L. Williams went for 40 and scored on the 3rd play of the game as the Star Wars theme was hummed by all in the King Dome. Albert Bentley even things up with a 4 play, 67-yard drive. The Package again picked up where he left off as he juked and jived he’s way to a 45-yard score. ‘’Looks like it’s gonna be a blowout’’ was mumbled out of Jeff George’s mouth. A Tecmo god must have overheard the rookie and blessed The Composer as he rambled his way to a 40-yard TD at the end of the half.
As it turned out though, the Tecmo God of Arrogance was indeed on George’s side as the Colts rolled to 23 unanswered points in the second half. Pat Beach and Jessie Hester got TD passes and The Package ran one in. Even that oh so mighty Colts D chipped in with a safety.
Colts 37
Seahawks 14
Notes: Albert Bentley 10 for 133. John L. Williams 8-100. Jeff George 64% 197 yards. Jessie Hester 4 passes for 80. The Wild One was MIA again. Some believe he forgot where Seattle was.
Rod Woodson looking for a victory against the Colts.
This one was ugly. Steeler's Hoge ran for 206 on just 6 carries. Colts had a chance in the forth down by 14, but a Jessie Hester drop on forth down and George's 4INT of the game sealed the victory for da Steelers.
Something screwy happened to the game and I had to watch two Lions games. Both times the game started out 4* to 4* with a touchdown giving a team 61 points on the first one. Lots of turnovers and injuries. After resetting it was back to normal tecmo.
