Tracy's review

I went to the July 7th concert at the GTE Amphitheatre in VA Beach. We got to the amphitheatre around 4:30, and the gates were supposed to open at 5:30. I had lawn seats because I'm from the DC area, and VA Beach is about 5 hours away, and the only way to get tickets was to call and by the time I got through all that was left was lawn. We parked, and when we got out of the car, we noticed we were parked about 15 feet from their bus!! But there were security people everywhere and wouldn't let us over there.

Anyways, at about 4:30 it started pouring rain. It was thundering and lightning and everything, it was awful. So we're all standing out in the rain waiting to be let in and finally they let us in. Me and my friend ran back to where the lawn was and we got pretty good seats on the lawn, a few rows back. So at that time its like 5:45, and the concert doesn't start until 7:30. And its still pouring rain, and thundering and lightning. So we just sat there and waited, and at 7:30 Johnny Wright comes out and was like "Due to the very bad weather, the concert will be delayed until it passes. We suggest all the people on the lawn take cover because its very dangerous." But nobody was gonna move because then we'd end up at the back of the lawn. So we stayed there and at about 8:15 he comes out again and introduces Sugar Hill Gang. They came out and did this mix and one other song. Then the crew set up for Jordan Knight. He came out and did 3 songs, and right before "Give it to You" he was like "Virginia Beach....I've got one important question for you...can I give it to you??" and everybody started screaming, so he performed that song.

Then there was another delay because of the weather, and once again the lawn people were supposed to come and take cover but nobody did. At about 9:00, the lights went off. Then the did this whole little Mission Impossible thing. This guy comes up on the screen and says that he is in charge, and he isn't letting *NSYNC come and perform. So then you hear them talking in the helicopter about how they're gonna land, and then Johnny Wright is like you cannot come in, its too dangerous, all the entrances and exits are blocked, and the audience has been taken hostage. Then you hear them talking again and they say they're gonna land on the roof and you hear a noise like they do, and then on the screen 5 ropes drop down, like they're coming out of the helicopter that way. Then its like "Mission Accomplished" and they come down from the rafters on ropes.

The first song was Here We Go, and the dancing was great. It looked like Lance had been practicing because he did really well!! Next they did You Got It, and inbetween the words of the song, Justin would say "The roof is on fire", it was really. Then Justin, Lance, Joey and Chris go offstage, and JC starts talking and says that the only thing we may not have is a seat on the stage, and the guys come out with 10 girls who get to sit onstage during For The Girl Who Has Everything. Then they take them offstage, and on the screen, this little movie plays about the 60's. They come out and sing "That Thing You Do" and Justin and Chris are on the guitars, Lance is on keyboard, and Joey is on drums. The cameraman got close to Justin and as soon as that came on the screen, everybody started screaming, and he started smiling and stuck his tounge out. It was really cute!!

Then after that song they go backstage, and a movie comes on about the 70's. They come out and sing "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5. Chris was on lead vocals and sounded really good!! Then they go backstage again and a movie comes on about the 80's, and they come out and sing "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. Then they go backstage once more while a movie plays about the 90's. They come out and sing Crazy For You, and they were doing A LOT of pelvic thrusts during that song!!! After that song, the lights go out, and they sit up on the stairs. Chris started talking, and at first was like "We wanna thank all of you, especially yall back on the lawn for stickin it out through the storm and staying for the concert. We really appreciate it and we love you guys!!". Then he was talking about how they think an important part of *NSYNC is how they can sing a capella, and they started I Drive Myself Crazy a cappela, then finished it normally.

Then they ran offstage and came back and Justin was like "V-A, are yall ready to dance??" and everybody screamed, and he was like "I said, V-A, are yall ready to dance??" and everybody screamed louder, and then they did I Just Wanna Be With You. Then everybody but Lance goes offstage, and Lance started talking. He was like "I've been looking at this crowd, and I knew it was special, but I didn't figure out why until that last song. Ya know what I think? I think that god definately spent a little more time on all of you Virginia!!" and everybody started screaming. The rest of the guys came out and they sang "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You." At the end, Justin did what he normally does, and would sing "a little more time" and stop, and everybody would scream. He did that twice and during all the screaming he was up on the screen, and he was smiling and lickin his lips and stickin his tounge out and laughing. Then Chris said into the microphone "Ummm Justin, I think you need to finish the song" and Justin was like "What?" so then Chris was like "Maybe you need some inspiration. Come over here, ya see this girl right here?? Sing it to her!!" and Justin was like "Well, she is a cutie (she was like 8)" and he sat down on the stage with his legs hanging into the audience and sang "on you" to finish the song. Then they thank everybody for coming, but they aren't done.

Everybody started screaming *NSYNC, *NSYNC and then they came out and did I Want You Back. Then the video for U Drive Me Crazy plays while they get ready for Sailing. The video is soooo cute!! My friend and I were the only people around us that knew the words to the song and everybody was looking at us weird when we were singing them. Then after the video they come out and do Sailing. They flew over the audience and JC was making it look like he was running, and it was really cute. Then they come back down and do Tearin' Up My Heart. It was really good, and then they hooked themselves back up to the harnesses and flew out and were doing flips and everything. Justin wrapped his legs around the wire so he was hanging upside down, and it was adorable. Then he put his thumbs on his ears and was wiggling his fingers and round and sticking his tounge out. Then they come back down and sing "Ain't No Stoppin Us Now" and introduce the band. After they introduce the band, they stand together and bow. It was a really great concert, there were tons of effects, like flames and stuff. I'd really recommend going to one, and if you are you have something great to look forward to!!!

Michelle's review--that me!

(January 3, 1999) I left the house at 4:30 PM to pick up my friend. After I arrived at her house we went straight to the Cox Arena. When we first got there we saw LOADS of girls there, people were screaming, some even saying how they met the group. So we decided to wait a while and see why everyone was crowded over towards the parking lot. Most of them were trying to persuade the security guards to let them backstage (of course I was one of them) of course it didn't work. :o(

As the hours went by the crowd was getting louder and louder (by the minute it seemed). At last it was 7:00 PM! They finally let us in at like 7:10 PM because they needed to check peoples backpack and all that. So we found are seats they were like 5 rows behind the floor seats which were pretty good. I got my camera out and was already zooming in so I could take great pictures. Well, guess what! The stupid camera didn't work! I was soooo mad!

The first act was B*witched. Personally I think the Spice girls are better (and I don't like the Spice girls). They sang like 3-4 songs. I think they have a song out here (haven't heard it). Next was Britney Spears she sang for like thirty minutes. She also announced that her album will be out January 12th. After her it was N Sync! It was kewl how they came on the stage in their like robot suits, then they did the robot and were break dancing it was sooo kewl! Everyone was screaming (I still hear sounds in my ears). The songs they started with are hit them with a, gone til November, up jumps the boogie, stayin alive, and the band warmed up with it's all about the benjamins, and some other stuff. I don't remember the exact order of the songs that N Sync sang but the songs were: I drive myself crazy, giddy up, God must have spent a little more time on you, here we go, and tearin' up my heart. I'm sure there was some more but I was too excited I forget. They sang for and hour and ten minutes.

It was sooo kewl though because when they all introduced themselves one on one Justin started dancing (he's a great dancer by the way) and he was competing with the drummer. Oh yeah and during like half of the concert he took off his shirt and had a wife beater under (it was black) talk about defintion :o) So anyway Justin and the drummer went back and forth. It was kewl!

We can't forget JC! (They all must have changed into like 4 different outfits.) JC looked soooo adorable. He had on one of those golfer hats (his was black) and a sleeveless sweater (he has definition too)! And some black jeans. He looked so precious (aWw).

As for Chris I don't remember if he had his braids (not dreadlocks) in his hair. I wasn't really paying attention. Man he has a high voice. It's kewl though.

Hmmm what was Lance wearing? I forget I know he had pants on lol. He had the crowd going. He does seem kinda shy hehe. It's okay though.

Mr.Flirtaous himself--Joey he was dancing everywhere on the stage with his superman shirt on. Hehe he's funny. The ladies were screaming!

*I know this was kinda long but so much happened! It was sooo much fun! I lost my voice until this morning. It was my first N Sync concert (definitely not my last). I will see them again (their coming back on April 15th). I can't wait it's gonna be wild!

Another one of my reviews...

April 15, 1999, the day I waited for. I woke up and was all crunk cuz my concert was coming up at 8:00pm that night. The whole day I was talking about 'n sync this 'n sync that. After school I went to the signing Tatyana Ali was doing at Sam Goody in the Fashion Valley mall. When I got there it was PACKED so I decided this is going to take TOO long and left. In the car I heard 93.3 announce that ticketmaster just released 600 more tickets. So I dashed to the nearest Wherehouse and got row THREE section jjj FLOOR seats! I was really shocked that they had that good of seats left. So I grabbed it and left. Meanwhile I had an extra ticket so had my friend Pauline go and sit by my mom lol. They had row 17 section N behind the stage (which was on the side of the stage not behind the stage). They said that Joey and Justin came over to their side a lot go Mom lol!

Meanwhile I was standing up waiting for the first group. It was a group called Blaque. I forget what is stands for. Anyway they were pretty good. Their dancers look good too! I'm talking muscle galore. They sang like three songs. I believe their album comes out on May 18th (something like that). Next act was Tatyana Ali. She seemed sweet. She said it was her first tour and took a picture of us. She sang like 4 of her songs: Day dreamin. yesterday, and the rest I forget. Oh yeah and she did Will Smith's gettin jiggy with it, and Men In Black. It was kute.

After Tatyana was 'N SYNC. Man the crowd was already screaming (me included) lol but when they came out they were carrying this monster and the crowd was SCREAMING! Then they all broke out with these monster suits. It was koo because when it all started there was like fire that shot up! I could feel the heat from it. They sang just about every song. I forget what order they sang them in but they sang: I drive myself crazy (starting off a cepella then into the song), GMHSALMTOY, Here we go, Giddy up, Tearin up my heart, sailing (during this song they flew through the air JC flew right over me)! for the girl who has everything and some other songs I forget though. Throughout them singing they did like this 60-90's flashback. They changed for every flashback! It was koo. I won't give away everything for those of you who haven't seen them yet.

Oh yeah, some of my friends told me that Danielle Fishel was there, and that she was nice. Also that some of Chris's family was there, JC's mother, and sister, Joey's brother Steven, and some MTV people. The concert was awesome! I can still hear humming in my ears it was all worth it of course!

Another one of Tracy's reviews

Okay well I went to an *NSYNC concert on March 19, 1999 in Washington, DC, and it was great!!! First B*Witched came out and sang about 4 songs, they weren't that great, and then was Tatyana Ali, she was pretty good, I think she sang 4 or 5 songs. Then all the lights went out, and there was this big monster type thingy that glowed being moved all around and dancing. The guys were behind it making it move, and then the music stopped and they came out in these glowing suit thingys, justin's was blue, and they did this little dance with big glow sticks.

Then they took those off and sang Here We Go. It was really awesome!! I don't remember the order of the songs, but Tearin' Up My Heart was last, and Sailing was right before that. They sang: Tearin' Up My Heart, I Just Wanna Be With You, Here We Go, For The Girl Who Has Everything (about 10 girls got to come on stage during this song), God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You (during this at the very end, justin kept singing *a little more time on you* and then he'd stop, and everyone would scream, he did that like 2 times, then chris came over and whispered something in his ear and he finished), You Got It, I Want You Back, I Drive Myself Crazy, Crazy For You, and Sailing. They did this little look through the decades, and for the 60s it was The Beatles "That Thing You Do" and the guys played their own instruments for that one. Justin and Chris were on guitars, Lance on the keyboard, Joey on drums and JC was just singing. Then for the 70s they did The Jackson 5's song "I Want You Back" (aka the abc, easy as 123 song) Chris sang the really high part for that, and it sounded just like Michael Jackson!! Then for the 80s it was Celebration, and then for the 90s they sang their song, Crazy For You. They were doing lots of pelvic thrusts during that song and it was great!! They showed the video for the *U Drive Me Crazy* song and it was awesome!! Then during Sailing, they were hooked up to these harnesses and flew over the audience. Justin and Lance were right over us and we almost touched their hands, but Justin smiled and pointed at us, he acted like he remembered us from the meet and greet. Then they got back down and did "Tearin' Up My Heart" and at the very end of the song they were flying again, and Justin did this thing where he put his feet on the rope and hung upside down, it was really cute. JC was pretendin he was running also.

The concert was really awesome, they had these flames shoot up during parts and the effects were awesome. At the beginning of the show they had one of those things on the screen that looks like you're moving, like a time warp type thing. Well anyways it was the best concert i've been to, I hope everyone gets a chance to go because it's amazing!!!!
