This beautiful area on the edge of the Mojave Desert is known for it's beautiful rock formations illuminated at sunrise and sunset.
Beautiful cliffs were just above our camp sites!

Saturday started with Morning Assembly. Wonderful warm weather!

Dutch Oven cooking was the focus of Saturday night. The theme was international cooking. About 7 dutch ovens were going, including deserts. Here LeRoy is working on cooking an oriental chicken dish!

Sunday Morning: Sunrise!

Nathanial & Nick perfected French toast for their international breakfast (with bacon)!

John Aldous perfected breakfast pizza (a Dutch oven egg, potato, cheese, & sausage dish). Roxanne is the first to taste it!

Several Moms were along on this trip as drivers. They also learned about Scouting skills including cold weather camping. Here Bethaney Keunning gets a jump start of coffee to prepare for a hike into the backcountry!

What a wonderful location for our Sunday Morning Worship Service!

Helping lead the Worship Service were Tommy, Taylor, and Josh B.

Wilderness Survival study hike. The focus was learning and using a few basic survival techniques.

The Five Mile hike group saw some beautiful vistas and rock formations.


There are spectacular rock formations at all turns. These formations are about 15 feet tall!

Campfires, an essential part of Scouting. All patrols presented skits.

The evening program closed with a flag retirement program.
