BSA Troop 413
Non-Camparee at Squaw Leap (Near Prather, CA)
September, 2003

One of the focuses of the trip was Dutch Oven cooking. This photo shows 3 items cooking and 3 more had already been removed from the cooking area.

Two of the Patrols made Dutch Oven Pizza!

T.J. and Kelley practicing fire building.

On Saturday morning the hike lead to a bridge above a quiet pool. The Venture Team decided to swim.

Flag Retirement: Another purpose of the trip was to learn and perform a Flag Retirement for a worn U.S. Flag. The Ranger of this BLM property is a leader for a local Indian tribe. He asked if he could perform a special Indian blessing for the ceremony and the Troop.

The Ceremony was performed with only the light of a fire.
