Our Visit to Cleveland, May 2000
Last December Ian completed his Bachelors degree in Business Administration / Finance at Cleveland State University. In May, Brenda & I traveled to Cleveland to attend the graduation ceremony.
The commencement was planned for Sunday the 7th May, we traveled to Cleveland on the Friday. Marc had already arrived on an earlier flight. Ian, Carrie and Marc were at the airport to meet us.
We stayed with Ian at his apartment on the outskirts of Cleveland. The wide lush lawns and big trees make this a very nice street.
We visited an area of Cleveland known as the flats. This is the part of town located right on the edge of the Cuyahoga river, where much of the night life occurs.
On Saturday we spent the day looking around the city of Cleveland, we started our day at the riverside. It was a beautiful clear day.

After lunch we met up with Carrie's mom & sister and we all took a ride on "Lolly the Trolley" which is a very interesting tour of the city inside an old trolly car. One of our stops was at the city arborretum, a great place for pictures.
One of the most instantly recognizable places in Cleveland is The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Located by the side of Lake Erie, it is one of the best examples of modern architecture to be found.
Just along the street from the RR Hall of Fame, is the new Cleveland Browns Football Stadium. The Browns are a new franchise that just started last year, they are following in the footsteps of an legendary old Cleveland football team.
