Denise, AJ, Kevin, Howie, Nick, Brian, Aaron, Kaitlin and Jennifer left McDonald's in a van the Backstreet Boys had rented for their stay in San Francisco. They drove to the Concord Pavilion for the boys' sound check, which they were late for as usual.
"Ok, we're here. Everybody out," said Denise. Nick, Kevin, AJ, Howie and Brian got out and went to the stage to check everything. During their sound check, Aaron entertained Jennifer and Kaitlin.

"How old are you two?" Aaron asked the two girls.
"I'm 13 and Jennifer is 14," replied Kaitlin.
"Hey, I do have a mouth you know. I can answer for myself," Jennifer jokingly said to her friend.
"Like Kaitlin already said, I am 14," Jennifer said to Aaron.
"You guys are funny. You would get along great with Nick and Brian," Aaron informed them.
"Really? You think so," both girls exclaimed at once.

"Yup, hey, you guys want to know something cool?" Aaron asked.
"Sure, what?"
"Earlier today I beat Nick at Mario Ca...," Aaron began, but was cut off by Nick.

"Yo, Airboy, do you have to go around telling EVERYONE you beat me?" Nick asked his brother.
"Yes, I do. I am proud to beat the Mario Cart 'champion'," Aaron said. He now went to practice for that nights performance.

"Hey, Frack?" Brian asked Nick.
"Yeah, Frick," Nick replied.
"Aaron has a good point there," Brian told him.
"Yeah, well, I can still beat you," Nick said.

"Ok, guys don't start fighting," Kaitlin said cautiously.
"Oh, don't worry about them. They are just joking around. They don't get into fights very often," Kevin informed her.
"Ok, good, I don't want to see them fight," Kaitlin said.

"Hi, everybody," Aaron said returning to the group.
"Hey, little brother," Nick said to him.
"Hey, AC, what's up?" Kevin, AJ and Howie asked.
"Hi, Aaron," Jennifer and Kaitlin said.
"Ok, everyone back to the van. Time to go," Denise yelled so everyone would be sure to hear her.
"Ok, Mom, you don't have to shout. We are all right here," AJ told Denise.
"Sorry, Son," Denise said as she kissed AJ on the cheek. They all went back to the van and drove off.

"Um, guys, where are we going now?" Jennifer asked them.
"Well the concert that you two are going to doesn't start until 8:00, but we...," AJ was then stopped from completing his sentence.
"Wait a second. Did you already forget that I said I couldn't get tickets because it was sold out?" Kaitlin asked him.
"Actually no, I didn't forget, but we do got some front row tickets for two very special girls. Oh yeah, don't forget the backstage passes."
"Thank you so much for the tickets and backstage passes," Kaitlin said for Jennifer and her.

"Oh my gosh, we met the Backstreet Boys at McDonald's now they are going to give us front row tickets and backstage passes to the concert tonight," Jennifer said. "This is to good to be true." So she pinched herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
"Ouch, that hurt. This is the real thing," Jennifer said laughing.

"Ok, now before I was interrupted. The concert doesn't start until 8:00, but we have a meet and greet today at 2:45 at our hotel," AJ finished. By now it was about 2:00.

"You two seem like funny girls. You would be great for Frick and I to goof off with," said Nick referring to Brian and him.
"See, I told you so," Aaron said.
"What?" said all five guys confused.
"Oh, when you guys were doing the sound check Aaron told us we would be great with Nick and Brian," Kaitlin said so the guys wouldn't be confused.
"Oh," said Nick.

"So where exactly are we going?" Jennifer asked after she calmed down about the tickets. "Sorry I forgot."
"Actually, you didn't forget. No one actually told us," Kaitlin said to her friend.
"Oh, yeah, I guess we didn't," Kevin said. "Where do you girls want to go? Or are you sick of us and would rather just go home until the concert?"
"I am far from sick of you, AJ and Howie, but then there's Nick and Brian that I am just getting so sick of," Jennifer joked.

"How about we go back to our hotel until the meet and greet," suggested Howie.
"Good idea," everyone else agreed.
"Hey, are you two sick of me?" Aaron wanted to know.
"We are not sick of any of you guys. Including you Aaron," Kaitlin answered.
"Oh, good, I thought you were really getting sick of Nick and I," Brian said laughing.

"Everyone, out of the van again," said Denise as they arrived at the hotel. "Ok, girls, hurry up with the guys before any fans have a chance to notice them."
"Ok," both girls said. Nick, Kevin, Brian, Howie, AJ, Denise, Jennifer, Kaitlin and Aaron then hurried into the hotel.

"Hey, Aaron, will you race me up the stairs to our rooms," Nick asked, hoping Aaron would agree.
"No, you have longer legs. It's not fair."
"Ok, how about you Kevin?"
"No thanks. I don't feel like racing anyone anywhere."
"Will anyone race me up the stairs?"

"Jennifer and I will race you up," Kaitlin volunteered.
"We will?" questioned Jennifer.
"Yup," Kaitlin said.
"Wait, Aaron is right. Nick has an advantage. He's way too tall. How about you race him up the stairs and the rest of us will be normal and take the elevator."
"Okay."

"On your marks, get set, go!" yelled Aaron. Kaitlin and Nick ran off while the others got into the elevator and pushed the button that would take them to the third floor. After about a minute they arrived on the third floor and waited by the stairs for Nick and Kaitlin. About 30 seconds later Kaitlin came up, laughing very hard.
"What's so funny?" everyone wanted to know. "And where's Nick?"
"We were about half way up the stairs and Nick tripped and fell. So I took off faster than before. He should be up here anytime now," Kaitlin told them. About the time she finished talking Nick arrived.

"So, Nicky, did you have a nice trip?" Brian teased.
"Yes, I did. It was great," Nick said back to him. Everyone started laughing. They had half an hour before the meet and greet. So off they went to Kevin and Brian's connecting rooms.
"I am going to call my mom at work and tell her where we are and about the concert," Jennifer told them. So she went over to Brian's room to use the phone.

"Hello, is Janet there?" Jennifer said into the phone.
"Yes hold on a second please," the person on the other end said.
"Hello, this is Janet," Janet said.
"Hi, Mom, this is Jennifer. Did you get my message at home?"
"No, why? Is something wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong everything is just gre...," Jennifer began.

"No, Aaron, not again!!" Nick yelled out loud.

"Who or what was that?" Jennifer's mom asked her.
"Oh, that was Nick Carter. Aaron must have beaten him again at Mario Cart," Jennifer told her.
"What? Nick Carter? Isn't he the guy from the Backstreet Boys? Where are you?"
"That's what I was trying to tell you. Kaitlin and I walked to McDonald's today and the Backstreet Boys came in, but we didn't know it was them at first," Jennifer explained. "They came over to where we were sitting and talked to us and we went to their sound check with them. Now we are at their hotel. I am calling from Brian's room."

"Oh really?"
"Yes, but that's not even the best part."
"What is the best part?"
"You know the sold out concert tonight?
"Yes, what about it?"
"Well AJ gave Kaitlin and I two front row tickets and backstage passes! So we are going! It starts at 8:00 and is at the Concord Pavilion,"
"Ok, I am so happy for you, but I have to get back to work now. Love you, bye."
"I love you, call Kaitlin's mom and tell her to please. Bye," Jennifer said to her mom.

"You love me?" a guys voice asked. Joking of course.
"Huh? What?" Jennifer said looking up to see Nick towering over her.
"I walked in and the first thing you said was I love you."
"Oh, no I was talking to my mom. I do love you guys though."
"You know I was joking, right?"
"Yes, of course."
