Roxy's first date with Howie (Roxy's P.O.V.) -

I paced up and down my room thinking about what I should wear. Sky walked in (we shared and apartment while Lucy and Kat shared another) and told me to stop. "If you keep that up, you're gonna wear a hole in the floor!"

"But I have no idea what to wear! What if I make a total fool outta myself? And what if I say something wrong? Oh, so many things can go wrong tonight and I'm so nervous!"

"Calm down, Roxy! It's not like you've never been on a date before!"

"But this is a date with Howie D! The guy I've dreamed about for 2 years!"

"Well, just be thankful you've got a date! I feel so left out! I mean, Lucy's got Scott, Kat's been going out with Kevin and now you're going out with Howie! I wish I had a boyfriend!"

I knew about Sky's crush on Nick so I tried to cheer her up. "Maybe Nick's just shy!"

"Hey how did you kno... never mind, you're my sister! But I heard rumors that him and some model, called Mandy I think, are going out! He even said it in an interview! I guess I'm doomed to never have a boyfriend!"

"Come on Sky! That's not true! Anyway, Mandy is probably some skinny blond with no brain anyway!"

Sky changed the subject and started saying that I should get ready. I looked at the clock and realized that I only had two hours left and started to panic again. "Two hours? Oh no! Quick, help me choose a dress!"
I finally decided to wear a dark purple spaghetti strap dress with my black strappy high heels. I had already showered and washed my hair. I decided to just leave my blond hair and let it hang loose. Just as I was putting the finishing touches on my make up, the doorbell rang. "Sky, can you get that?"

"Fine, just make me your personal slave!

Sky's P.O.V. -

I was wearing a yellow tank top and denim cutoffs when I opened the door. I was surprised to see AJ with Howie. "Hi guys! Come in! My sister will be with you in a sec, she's just got to put on all her make up to disguise her ugly witch mask!"
Roxy walked out just as Howie said, "Well if your sister's a witch, she's certainly put me under her spell!"
Roxy was already blushing and when Howie complemented on how she looked, she blushed even more. Then Howie said to me, "Uh Sky, I've got a huge favor to ask!"

"Oh no! This sounds bad!"

"Well, you're probably wondering why I brought AJ along," he glanced over at AJ, who seemed to be exploring our apartment.

"Yeah, you could say that! I didn't think you'd be bringing him along with you on your date!"

"Well, AJ was being' real annoying and I was wondering if..."

I finished the sentence for him. "I'd keep him company tonight? Yeah, okay but I'm just watching a video and stuffing my face with popcorn!"

"I'm sure he wouldn't mind!" By now, AJ was standing next to Howie.

"Cool! Thanks Sky!" AJ said. "What movie are we watching?"

"I dunno yet. You can choose while I make the popcorn. The videos are next to the TV!"

I turned to Howie and Roxy. "So, you two better be off then!"

"Yeah! Thanks Sky!" Howie said.

I put on a motherly voice and said to Roxy, "Now, be back before your curfew or you're grounded for the next 2 months!" She just ignored me and dragged Howie out of the apartment.

I went into the kitchen and put the popcorn in the microwave. "Have you chosen a movie yet?"

"Yeah! We're watching Scream 2. Should I fast forward the ads?"

"Yes!" I put the popcorn in a bowl and walked out to the lounge. I decided to ask him a question that had been really bugging me. "Does Nick have a girlfriend?"

AJ turned and looked at me. "You really like him don't you?"

"Uh... no! I'm asking for someone." I tried to sound convincing but I could tell he wasn't fooled. "Okay, so maybe I have a little crush on Nick! Please don't tell anyone!"

"Okay! And sorry, 'cos yes, the rumors are true, he does have a girlfriend called Mandy."

I looked disappointed so AJ continued. "If it makes you feel any better, none of the guys like her much. She a skinny, blond model who has no brains or personality and she really whines a lot! I dunno what Nick sees in her." We talked more and discovered that we had a lot in common. We weren't paying any attention to the movie at all. AJ was a fun guy to be with and he was hilarious. I might have even considered going out with him if I wasn't so into Nick. Pretty soon, we had started a food fight and there was popcorn everywhere! I looked at the time and realized that it was midnight and the movie had already stopped, a long time ago. "You know, since the movie has stopped and you started the popcorn fight, you have to help me clean up!"

I gave AJ a plastic bag and ordered him to pick up popcorn as I started to pick up popcorn too. He gave me his puppy dog eyes but I just said, "Uh uh! If you think that's gonna work on me, you're wrong! I have Roxy and Lucy giving me puppy dog looks all the time and I can handle 'em! Now get to work with picking up the popcorn!"

"Damn! It usually works with my mom!"

"Well, I ain't your mom!"

"Thank god!"

I picked up some popcorn and threw it at him. He did the same and pretty soon, the fight had started all over again.
