The
objective of this program is to use small-scale pilot and demonstration
projects to illustrate more environmentally sound practices, primarily
for small and medium-sized enterprises [SME], cooperatives and
communities in Sulawesi. CEPI, CIDA and BAPEDAL, in collaboration with
local government officials and NGOs, target priority cases for
implementation of innovative environmental management methods. The
Demonstration Project Selection Group (DPSG) selects appropriate
projects and technologies for funding, and CEPI short and long-term
advisors assist in planning and implemention of the pilot/demonstration
projects. Operation and maintenance of the completed projects will be
financed by the local governments, enterprises or communities benefiting
from the new facilities and methods.
