Lightening the early CorvAIRCRAFT case
 

 

This is the "Before" photo.

 

 End view of the propeller end of the case,  with the front cover removed.

View of the rear side of the front cover.

One of the "ears" to be removed.

 

Same "ear" with the front cover in place.

Right side "ear".

This side probably has to stay in place on the newer models.

 

 These views are of the back side of the "ears" showing the mass of metal to be removed.

 

Front cover cut down and put in place.  I did this to trace around for the rough cuts.  Shown in the foreground are the "ears" cut off the front cover.

The finish grinding was done with the front cover in place,  so both the case and front cover could be shaped as one piece.
