Where are you from? I'm from a village in New Brunswick, called Douglas Harbor.   Yes this is the first.   Stella is a very strong women. She sacrifices her life for the good of her daughters. She knows she should not be with Leon, because he is a corrupt man, but feels she has no choice. She wants to do what's best for her children. Her strength is in staying.   The role is both. But Stella is a pivitol part in that she shows the result of how violent Leon, her husband, really is. Her singing role shows her true love.   I was approached a couple of years ago by Glen Doyle and Lanz Boglander, to be involved. Glen was a fan of my music and had written the role of Stella with me in mind.   I've always enjoyed working with new people. Christina is a talented actress and knows what she is looking for in a role. She was pleasant to work with and helped me understand a little more about acting. Watching and learning from others is an important part when you are new. Roselle was elegant charming and can skate like an angel. As you can see we got along very well. I got to know the person, inside and she was truly wonderful. I've always enjoyed the gracefulness of skaters and have never experienced it first hand. When I saw Roselle skate to "Sometimes a Hero" for the first time, I cried.   I have sang all my life. I started in the Scotchtown church choir when I was 5 years old. My family are all singers, so I grew up in music. I've been recording since 1984.   When Glen approached me about the movie he had another song in mind. The lyrics were in the script and I just felt that they didn't quite fit Jimmys character. I wanted to write something that told how he felt, from Jimmys point of view. I read the script several times and wanted the song to be simple, because of the fact that Roselle was skating to it, and also, there is a lot going on while I'm actually singing. I hope I accomplished my goal.   I do not sing any other songs, at the moment, but I do have some ideas to run by the director.   The one thing I have learned in the music business and now in film, is that nothing is as it seems. The night that we did the Gala scene where Roselle had to skate, it was long and grueling. More for Roselle than myself. It was a thrill to see her skate to the song, and I felt like a proud Mamma!   I'm currently working on an a new project, it will be on that project. I would like to see a sound track for the movie as well, but that is not really in my hand.   I have no plans at the moment. I think having this movie on my resume will help. You always have to start somewhere.   The cast the crew and the powers that be were all great. I enjoyed the time we spent off camera as well as on. We played a lot of shuffle board and sang a lot of Karaoke. It was great getting to know all of them.   I enjoyed getting to know Glen. He is definitely a character. As far as stories I think I will keep them to myself.
The only thing I would like to add is that I really had a wonderful time
doing this project. It was nice to see that Glen has fulfilled a dream and
that there are many more for him in the future. His father would be very
proud.
Thanks. All the best,
