I finally met my friend the following day, arriving at the designated BART station on time. I found out that her computer system had no CD-ROM drive, and that the only installation program was on CD-ROM! I was able to install it on my laptop computer system which has one, but was unable to determine which files needed to be transferred to diskettes for installation on her system.
Naturally it started raining again. We went for dinner at a nearby restaurant. Then she drove me to the BART station, and loaned me a large umbrella for the trip home. I was still nervous from my previous evening's encounter, and without paying attention went to the wrong platform, thereby missing one train toward my home.
When I reached my home station, it was still raining, and I didn't feel comfortable walking home from there encumbered both by my laptop computer and the large umbrella. Instead, I used the ladies' rest room there, and waited for the next train, which I took to the next station where I could catch a bus which would take me much closer to my home. Fortunately it had stopped raining, and I nervously waited for that bus. I made it home without any further problems.
