Ash and
Misty: Together at Last
by: Piccolo
My name is Cerebrus. I am the Guardian of all great love
stories. The epic tale of Brock, Ash,
and Misty has been told over and over, but many do not know what followed the becoming
of Ash as Pokémon League champion, and what became of the three in their
adulthood. As many have come to
realize, Ash and Misty were practically made for each other. At last, the Gods have willed that their
story be told in full detail. Listen as
Ash and Misty come....Together at Last.
“PIKAPI!(Wake up!)” the old Pikachu yelled. his master, Pokémon League Champion Ash Ketchum put the pillow over his head. “PikkkkaaaaCHHUUUU!!!” Pikachu used it’s painful Thundershock to bring his master to life.
“OW! OW! I’M UP! I’M UP!” Ash jumped up out of bed. “You’d think that by age 20 he’d let me sleep in.” He grumbled. He got into his Pokémon League uniform, and went to the breakfast table.
When he got there, he found his good friend Misty sitting at the table with toast and coffee. “Morning Ash!” she said. Then, trying to hide a grin, “Pikachu wake you up again?”
“I’ll bet you enjoy the fact that I have to wake up to 10,000 volts of electricity every morning, don’t you?” Ash demanded. Misty and Pikachu burst out laughing. “I’ll take that as a yes. And what’s a Pokémon Master got to do to eat around here?!” A waiter came and gave him a plate of French Toast.
“So, how many challenging you today?” Misty asked.
“uy...lets see..” Ash picked up a list, “about 50. It’s amazing my Pokémon survive till afternoon with this kind of schedule.” Misty laughed.
Nice scene, isn’t it? Let me fill you in. Brock returned to Pewter City to reclaim his
place as Gym leader. Ash is living in
Pokémon League H.Q. and Misty is living in the room next to him. When asked why he lets her stay, he merely
says, “She’s the only one who’s ever come close to beating me before, she
deserves some credit.” of course, neither
of them will admit to why they stay near each other, but...I get ahead of my
self. Let’s rejoin our friends at noon,
about 35 Pokémon battles later.
“Charizard, fire blast!” Ash commanded. The giant Fire Pokémon let out a wave of fire at his opponent, a Venusaur. The Venusaur caught on fire and had to go back into his Pokéball. Ash had defeated yet another trainer!
“Oh, man...” the trainer sighed, “You’re tough!” Ash called back Charizard, and patted the trainer on the back.
“That was a good fight, kid.” He said, “I’m sure that some day you’ll be much better than I am.” The trainer left. “Finally! Break time!” Ash celebrated.
“Pikapikachu!(at last!)” Pikachu said. They went outside where they found Misty arguing with some kid.
“You’re only in there because The Champion Loooooves you!” the kid teased.
“You want to see why I’m in?!” Misty demanded, angrily, “I challenge you to a Pokémon battle! Togepi, go!” Togepi, Misty’s most powerful and loyal Pokémon, jumped forward.
“Oh yeah? well, charmander, go!” the kid sent out his small fire Pokémon. “Charmander, flame thrower!” A blast of fire was sent at Togepi, but the small Pokémon dodged it.
“Togepi, psychic!” Togepi focused it’s mental powers on Charmander’s brain. The opposing Pokémon fainted immediately. The kid called back his Pokémon and looked like he would cry. Ash came forward, clapping. The kid’s eyes went wide open.
“Kid,” Ash said, “This Woman is the greatest Trainer I know (besides me, of course) That is why I let her live in the Pokémon league. She is also my good friend, do you understand.” The kid nodded, and asked for Ash’s autograph. After getting it, he left. Misty looked unsatisfied.
“Besides you? I could beat you any day!” She exclaimed.
“Then why haven’t you done it yet?” Ash demanded.
“I don’t want to hurt your pride, that’s why! I’d hate to make you cry!”
“PikaCHU!(if I may interrupt...)” Pikachu said. Then they remembered why they were there. They went out to the Pond nearby and got out their rods.
Haven’t changed much in over 10 years, have
they? Still arguing, still boasting,
and yet...there is something different...something that you wouldn’t notice
from the outside. Let’s take a little
peak into their thoughts shall we?
Misty Looked at Ash. <Why do I feel this way?> She thought, <Is this Love? I feel so safe when I’m with him....I feel calm....>
Ash was looking into the water, trying to avoid eye contact with Misty. <Look at me. I can’t even look her in the eyes anymore, I’m so afraid. I could never let her know....what if I told her and she left me?> something tugged Misty’s line.
“I got a bite!” she exclaimed. She pulled, but the thing wouldn’t come out of the water.
“Here, let me help.” Ash said, and he grabbed the rod, right next to her hands. They pulled as hard as they could, but the thing wouldn’t come out. “On three!” Ash said. “One...Two...Three!!” They pulled, and out came a Tentacruel. Misty was about to call out her Pokémon, when the Tentacruel grabbed her.
“ASH!!!!” She cried out. The Tentacruel Pulled her under water.
“MISTY!!!!!!” Ash cried out. “Blastoise, go!!! Save her, please!!” The big water Pokémon came out of it’s Pokéball and dove into the water. Seconds later, It emerged with Misty. She was barely breathing. “Pikachu, you know what to do! Please, hurry!” Pikachu nodded and gave Misty a jolt of electricity. She woke up, dazed. Ash kneeled down and hugged her close to him.
“A-ash? W-w-what happened?” She asked, startled, “I’m having trouble *cough* breathing....”
“Don’t worry, we’ll get help! Just stay calm.” Ash sent out Charizard. “Go get a doctor, and fast!” Charizard flew to the Pokémon league. Minutes later, he came with nurse joy.
“Stand aside, young man.” She said, “I usually only do Pokémon, but I can see this is an emergency.” An ambulance came with a stretcher. Hesitantly, Ash let Misty go. “Don’t worry ash..” Misty said weakly, “I’ll be fine...” the ambulance drove off. Ash put his face in his hands.
“Pikapi.(I’m sure that she’ll be fine.)” Pikachu said, knowing how Ash felt.
“It’s not that...It’s that...” Ash couldn’t finish.
“pipikapikachu.(I know how you feel about her, Ash. I would tell her if I was you.) Pikachu advised. Ash was silent. What if she laughed? What if she left him? and yet...he couldn’t stand the thought of loosing her like he almost did. He had to tell her. He called back Blastoise and Charizard. “Come on Pikachu, we’re going to the ER room.” Pikachu smiled.
Misty lay in bed, thinking about what had just occurred. Ash had saved her life...she owed him for that. But...if she told him...what if he didn’t like her? And things weren’t so bad now, seeing him most of the time as-as friends. But...if only they could be something more. Misty’s mind was struggling to decide what to do when someone knocked at the door. “Come in.” She said weakly. Ash walked in with some flowers. “Flowers? I nearly drown and you give me flowers?” She demanded.
“Yes.” He said calmly.
“Thanks, I love them!” She said with a change of tone. They laughed and Pikachu left the room. “Where’s he going?” She asked curiously. Ash took a deep breath.
“Misty, there’s something I’ve always wanted to tell you...”
Is this the big moment? Will Ash tell Misty? How will Misty react? Should I shut up now? Probably.
“Yes?” Misty asked anxiously. He looked at her big eyes...her red hair...and he couldn’t hold back any longer. He hugged her close and kissed her forehead and her cheek.
“Misty, I was too afraid to tell you, but I don’t want to loose you...” He stuttered.
“Shhh...I’m going to survive. And I was afraid too. It started just as a crush when we were kids and grew into something....more.” She buried her head in his chest.
“I never thought that you...I mean...I thought that you were only following me for your bike.” He said stupidly. She burst out laughing.
“You really are dense!” She teased, “do you think I would follow you all across the entire land JUST to get a new bike?” He thought about it and laughed.
“Well you are exceptionally stubborn.” He joked. They sat there, holding each other until Ash was called to the stadium for his last few Pokémon matches. “But I want to stay with you..” He complained. She kissed his cheek.
“”Get going, Bonehead. I’ll be fine.” So reluctantly, he got up to leave. suddenly, the closet door burst open and Pikachu rolled out. Ash glared at him.
“Pikapipikachupika.....(um...how did I get here?)” Pikachu said sheepishly. Misty laughed as he ran out of the room. Ash followed, though a little slower.
Ahhh.....Love....isn’t it Wonderful? Since we don’t want to see all 14 of Ash’s
last battles, lets fast forward a bit.
This is Ash’s Final Match, and TV cameras are everywhere. The final tournament of the day is always
put on about 20 different channels, and that’s nothing compared to the last one
of the year. Lets join the camera crew,
shall we?
“We’re here live as the final challenger of the day steps onto the Arena. And this challenger is no less than...Gary Oak! Former Pokémon League champion, Gary Oak disappeared after being defeated by Champion Ash Ketchum.”
From her hospital room, Misty’s eyes went wide. Gary had always been bad news, and she was sure this time was no exception. She quickly got into her clothes and left for the arena.
“Well if it isn’t little Ash Ketchum.” Gary said arrogantly.
“So, Gary, I see being humiliated on film once wasn’t enough for you, eh?” Ash said calmly.
“HA! My Pokémon have gotten way stronger! Prepare to meet your match, Ash! Jolteon, go!!” Gary’s Pokémon appeared on the arena.
“Jolteon eh? For your Jolteon, I choose VENUSAUR!” Ash’s Venusaur appeared.
“Jolteon, thunderbolt!” Gary commanded. Jolteon shot out the high voltage attack at Venusaur, barely affecting it.
“Ha! call that an attack?! Venusaur, take it out with one hit! Use SOLAR BEAM!!” Sucking in sunlight from the sunroof, Venusaur prepared to attack.
“Jolteon, quick attack! Hit him before he can attack!” The Jolteon ran as fast as it could at the plant Pokémon, but was blasted by a huge beam and knocked out of the arena.
“Jolteon, return! Go, Charizard!” The fire Pokémon came out and fried Venusaur before Ash could even think.
My my my, this looks bad, doesn’t it? Lets fast forward some...there. Gary’s Last Pokémon, Gyrados, is out, and Pikachu
is standing before it. This is going to
be a tough match!
“Hahahaha!!! The title of Pokémon League Champion is as good as mine!” Gary bragged. <Come on, Ash! You can do this, I know you can...> Misty thought.
“Pikachu, THUNDER SHOCK!”
“PiiiiiikkaaaaaCHUUUUUU!!” Pikachu sent out 20,000 volts of electricity at Gyrados. Gyrados was barely affected.
“HAHAHAHA!!! Gyrados, hydro pump!” Gary cheered. Gyrados blasted Pikachu with water at high pressure. Pikachu was knocked to the edge of the ring.
“I can’t beat him! He’s too strong!” Ash thought. Misty saw that Ash was loosing hope. She realized she had to do something.
“Ash!! I know you can do it!” She called out, “You’re the greatest Pokémon Master in the world! Are you going to let your rival destroy your dream?” Ash hadn’t realized Misty was in the crowd, but it made him even more determined to win.
“Pikachu.” He called his Pokémon to his side, “We’re going to beat Gary. For you, for me, for...”
“Pika!(for Misty!)” Pikachu finished. Pikachu ran up to his gigantic opponent.
“Pikachu!! Use your Thunder attack at full power!!!” Ash ordered
“PiiiiiiiiiiikkkkkkaaaaaaaCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!” Pikachu’s blast destroyed several cameras, and the Gyrados cried out in pain. It was a spectacular site, The electricity went through the sunroof. Everyone in the crowd stared, speechless. The electricity stopped. A charred Gyrados fell to the floor. a tired Pikachu sat down by Ash’s feet. The crowd went wild! People jumped up, shouting Ash’s name, cheering his victory. Misty ran out of the crowd and practically knocked Ash on the ground. As their lips met, several cameras went off, flashing at them. They didn’t care, they had each other.
Gary left, defeated, humiliated. “I’ll get you yet, Ash Ketchum!” he vowed, “I’ll get you yet.”
Epilogue
Ash paced outside the hospital room, worried. Pikachu was sitting in the chair across from the operating room. “Pikapipikachupika (calm down. I’m sure everything’s’ fine.)” Pikachu assured him.
“What if something went wrong?” Ash asked nervously, “What if she doesn’t pull through? RRR! Why did she have to make me wait outside!?!”
“PikapikaCHU!!(probably because she was afraid you’d make HER nervous!)” Pikachu said lightly. They waited for another hour, and then a doctor came out.
“Mr. Ketchum?” He asked. Ash and Pikachu froze with suspense. “Congratulations Mr. Ketchum, it’s a girl!” Ash fell back into a chair, while Pikachu congratulated him. “You can go in, if you like.” The doctor suggested. With a flash, Ash was in the room.
Misty lay there, looking weak, but very happy, with their baby in her arms. Ash pulled up a chair next to her bed. “Our daughter.” She said.
“Our daughter.” He agreed. She held his hand. A man ran in the door.
“Ash? Misty?! It’s been so long!” the man exclaimed. Ash stood up.
“Brock!” They both exclaimed. They all shook hands.
“Is that....him?” Brock asked, in awe.
“Yes. Our girl.” Ash said proudly.
“We’re still trying to think of a name for her.” Misty said.
“How about...Ashley?” Brock suggested. They all loved the name. Pikachu came in with Togepi to see Ashley. They were all overjoyed.
Sniff sniff.....I always cry at happy
ending.....IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL!!
well, That’s all there really is
to tell. Ashley grew up to be a great
Pokémon Master. Ash and Misty stayed
together for the rest of their lives.
As for Brock...well, that’s another story. Perhaps I’ll share it with you some time.
