Roy Thomas Diggins
Funeral service for the late Roy Thomas Diggins,
76 of Sand Point, was held
this past Sunday,
Nov. 30 in St Lawrence Church, Mulgrave,
with Rev. Bernard
MacAdam officiating.
Interment was in the Middle Melford Cemetery.
Mr
Diggins died Nov 27 in the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.
Pallbearers
were Tom Diggins, Lewis Chisholm, Everett Halfpenny,
Ronald Behie, Seward
Hendsee, and Dougie Halfpenny.
Born in St Francis Harbour, he was the son of
the late
James and Beatrice (Carter) Diggins.
He was a farmer and fisherman
and a retired member
of the Corps of commissionaires. He was a veteran of
the second world war and a 40 year member
of Combrai Branch No 37, Royal
Canadian Legion, Mulgrave.
He is survived by a daughter Mary Thelma (Mrs
Seward Farrell) Antigonish,
a son, David, Middleton, three sisters,
Mrs
Mary Chisholm,St Francis Harbour; Mrs Betty Marton and Stella (Mrs David
Martin)
both of Halifax; five brothers, Arthur, Mulgrave; Jerome,
Vancouver;
Bernard, Hamilton; Ralph and Eugene, both of Montreal;
five
grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife
the former Almira Miller and
a sister Viola.
