Eastern Chronicle
THURSDAY 22 JANUARY 1942
LOVED, RESPECTED LADY OF SMITHFIELD, GUYS. CO.PASSES

There passed away at her home in Smithfield, Guys. Co.,
on December 26, 1941, MRS. GEORGE BROWN MacINTOSH,
formerly MARY JANE MacDONALD, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. HUGH MacDONALD of Lochaber, Antigonish County.
She was in her 70th year and was always in good health up until a week
previous to her death when she was stricken with a
paralytic stroke from which she never gained consciousness.
Mrs. McIntosh was of a cheerful disposition and always
made welcome to her home the many people who visited there.
She was a devoted wife and mother and
a true friend to everyone. She was a member of
Glenelg Presbyterian Church and a Life Member
of the Woman's Missionary Society.

In her immediate family she is survived by
her sorrowing husband and an only daughter, JEAN.
Three sisters, MARGARET(Mrs. Cameron) of Iroquois Falls, Ont.;
CHRISTY(Mrs. Lewis MacKenzie) of Port Coquitlam, B.C.;
LILLIAN(Mrs.Ezra Blanchard), Franklin, Mass., also survive.
Two sons predeceased her a number of years ago.

The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 28, at 2 o;clock
from the home. The esteem in which Mrs. McIntosh was held
was shown by the largely attended funeral. Rev.J.W. Bretton of Sherbrooke
Presbyterian Church conducted the service and brought a comforting message
to the bereaved. His text was from Psalm 116:
" Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
The choirs of the Glenelg United and Presbyterian Churches sang three favorite selections:
"The Lord's My Shepherd". "looking This Way" and "does Jesus care".
Interment was made in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Aspen.
