On Thursday, January 11, Gordon Murdock MacIntosh,
85 of Waternish, Guys. Co., passed away
in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in Stillwater, he was the son of the late
Mr. & Mrs. John A. MacIntosh. He is survived by
three sons, Thomas, Sherbrooke; Arnold and Russell, Waternish;
three daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Laurence MacAllister), Montreal;
Shirley (Mrs. Lewis Bonik), Coquitlan, B.C.; Joan, Montreal;
16 grandchildren, and one brother, Walter, British Columbia.
The body rested at Veinotte’s Funeral Home, Sherbrooke.
The funeral was held on Saturday, January 15,
at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Memorial Church in Stillwater.
The funeral service was conducted by I. Frank Canning.
Hymns sung by a combined choir were “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”
and “The Lord’s My Shepherd”. The organist was
Miss Florence MacDonald.
Pallbearers were Harold Scott, Frank Jordan, Jack Warner,
Donald Hurst, Lester MacKeen Jr., and Scott Fraser,
all members of the Masonic Lodge. The Masons,
attending in a body, held their service before leaving
for the cemetery with Acting Worshipful Lewis Beaver, assisted by
Worshipful Right Arch Hingley, Lester MacKeen, Arnold Bright,
Lester MacDonald and Asa Hurst. Internment was in
the Waternish Cemetery.
