McKEEN, Sterling M. - 78, Aspen, Guysborough Co.,
died Monday, June 1, 1998,
in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in Aspen,
he was a s on of the late John and Annie (Jordan) McKeen.
He was a lifelong resident of Aspen and was a former member of the former Aspen Baptist Church.
He had worked in his earlier years, as a woodsman and later in construction with various contractors as a machine operator.
He had also worked with the Department of Transportation for a number of years.
He was an overseas veteran during the Second World War, having served with the West Nova Scotia Regiment.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Jean Stewart,
are daughters, June (Mrs. Victor Vienneau) Halifax,
Audrey (Mrs. McKay Hodgson) MacPhersons Mills;
sons, Melvin, Halifax;
Vernon (Margie) Lower Sackville;
Jack, Toronto;
Donnie, Glenelg, Guysborough Cou.;
grandchildren, Vaughn, Rodger, Paul, Dale, Candra, Kristin;
great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Anika and Michaela.
He was predeceased by brothers, Walter, Alexander, Cecil, Floyd, Ellsworth, and grandson, Doug.
His remains will rest at Kirk Memorial United Church, Glenelg,
with visitation today 2-4, 7-9 p.m. and where funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Ross Hamilton officiating.
Burial will be in Aspen Baptist Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the palliative care unit of St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Arrangements entrusted to H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater.
