RED BAR

Margaret Waterston Simpson MORRISON:

There passed away Monday morning, January 20, 1936
at her home in Hazel Hill, Guysborough County,
Mrs. John A. Morrison.

Mrs. Morrison became ill only a short time before her death,
an illness which developed into pneumonia
to which she succumbed at noon.
The former Margaret Waterston Simpson,
Mrs. Morrison was born in Glasgow, Scotland
December 23, 1867. As a young woman,
she came out to Canada to marry John A. Morrison,
former local editor of The Canso Breeze
and author of a "History of the Highland Clans".
Mr. Morrison was attached to the Commercial Cable Office
in Hazel Hill where they have made their home ever since.

Her kindliness, sincerity and unvarying integrity
left its influence on all with whom she came in contact.
She was honoured and loved by all who knew her.
She was a good woman, a good friend and a good mother
who "looketh well after the way of her own household".

She will be sorely missed in the home
and in the Cable Community of Hazel Hill.
Many who came under her influence and knew her fine disposition
and cheerful manner are now located in cable stations throughout the continent;
they will learn with sorrowful hearts the sad news of her passing.
Mr. and Mrs. Morrison were looking forward to passing the rest of the winter
with their daughter, Mona (Mrs. Howard A. Flanders) of Boston, Mass.

"Man proposes but God disposes."

Besides her husband, Mrs. Morrison leaves to mourn her passing
three sons: Sholto of the Commercial Cable Co., Hazel Hill;
Gilbert, engineer with the Dept. of Highways;
John with the Commercial Cable Co., New York;
and one daughter Mona (Mrs. Howard A. Flanders) of Boston,
all of whom were at the bedside before their mother passed away.
The funeral was held Wednesday, January 22
from her home in Hazel Hill;
interment in the English Church Cemetery, Canso.
