The Evening News, New Glasgow, N.S,
Thursday, 29 May 1952:

New Harbor - The death occured at the Victoria General Hospital
of Mrs. Walter Sangster on May 23.
She was 69.
Mrs. Sangster was the former Lauretta MacKeil of Sheet Harbor.
She came to this community a number of years ago
as a school teacher. She was a member of
the United Church and taught Sunday School
for a number of years. She was very active
in all other church and community work.
Mrs. Sangster went to Spryfield a short time ago
to live with her daughter, Mrs. Dort, and became ill there.

She is survived by two sons, James of Ontario,
and Floyd, New Harbor; two daughters,
Mrs. Arthur Dort, Spryfield; and Mrs. A.C. Wright; and one sister,
Jennie MacKeil, United States, also several grandchildren.
Her husband and son predeceased her a few years ago.

A funeral service was held at Halifax,
from there to the United Church at New Harbor,
where the service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Ferguson of Guysboro.
Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, New Harbor.
