FELTMATE, Neil Joseph - 81, Cleveland, formerly of Hazel Hill,
Guysborough Co., passed away suddenly
in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, on Tuesday,
February 3, 2004.

Born in Hazel Hill, he was a son of the late
John and Catherine (Rossong) Feltmate.
Neil was a hardworker and worked several jobs over the years,
including Nova Scotia Power, Department of Highways,
Guysborough and as a heavy equipment operator.
He loved the outdoor life, hunting and fishing
until his ATV accident in 1996,
which left him paralyzed.
Even though he was in a wheelchair and couldn't do
the things he loved, he had an amazing spirit
and always had advice for others on how to do things
and do them his way. He was a veteran of
the Second World War having served overseas,
and a member of Star of the Sea Parish, Canso.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years,
Mary Edith (Grant); sons, Wayne (Phyllis),
Oromocto, N.B.; Neil (Marg), Cleveland;
Phillip (Valerie), Sackville; Mike (Maxine),
Dana (Jean), Mark, all of Hazel Hill;
daughter, Judy (Dave) Rye, Moncton, N.B.;
sisters, Sadie (Joe) Jamieson, Guysborough;
Pearl Boyd, Peggy Shute, both of New Jersey;
Gladys (Doug) Woodburn, British Columbia; 12 loving grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by son,
Trent; granddaughter, Kayla; brothers, John "Dig",
Doug Rossong, Tom Rossong; sisters, Bertina Pace,
Edna Smith, Marge Kiley. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m.
Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday
in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church,
Father Daniel Boudreau officiating.
Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only.
Memorial donations to a charity of choice. Red Divider
