NEWTOWN, Guysborough County - Mrs. Cecil Archibald, 63, of Newtown,
died Thursday in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Hedgeville, Pictou County,
she was the former Margaret Christine MacLean,
daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth (MacDonald) MacLean and the late John MacLean.
She was a retired school teacher in Rocky Mountain, Gairloch, Mountain Road and Woodfield.
She was a member of Bethany United Church, East River-St. Mary's,
a life member of UCW,
choir member,
and honorary life member of the Bible Society,
a member of Denver Newtown Women's Institute,
a past noble grand of the Sunlight Rebekah Lodge,
a member of Princess Orange Lodge and a
sponsor of JOL's.
She was a cub leader and a former member of the Sons of Temperance.
Surviving besides her mother, are her husband;
three daughters, Ethel (Mrs. Arch MacLaughlin), Truro;
Elizabeth (Mrs. Ronald Archibald), MacPherson's Mills;
Myrna (Mrs. Eugene Breen), Truro;
two sons, Calvin, Bridgewater;
John at home;
10 grandchildren;
a sister, Catherine (Mrs. Al Davis) Oakville, Ont.;
three brothers, Daniel, Hedgeville; John, Stellarton; Robert, Mississauga, Ont.
The body is at H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Zion Presbyterian Church, East River-St. Mary's.
Burial will be in Newtown cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Bible Society.
