Guysboro man dead in drowning mishap

SHERBROOKE - An attempt to rescue a domestic duck from the ice of a lake
proved fatal for an Indian Harbor Lake man over the weekend.
William Irwin Langille, 54, of Indian Harbor Lake,
was trying to rescue the duck from the ice
when he fell from a boat and drowned.
An RCMP dive team recovered the body from about 3 feet of water on Friday.
Born in Indian Harbour Lake,
he was the son of Mrs. Mary Jane (Bennett) Langille and the late George B. Langille.
He was a member of Orange Lodge, Newtown.
He is survived by three brothers, Berton, Sudbury, Ont.;
Alex, Indian Harbour Lake, and Frank, Aspen;
four sisters, Martha (Mrs.Robert Kaiser) Bickerton;
Minnie (Mrs. Willie MacGrath) Aspen;
Katie (Mrs. Graham Smith) Sherbrooke, and
Leta (Mrs. Ernest Jordan) Jordanville;
and several nieces and nephews.

William Irwin Langille, 54,
died Thursday as the result of a drowning accident.
Born in Indian Harbour Lake,
he was the son of Mrs. Mary Jane (Bennett) Langille
and the late George B. Langille.
He was a member of Orange Lodge, Newtown.
He is survived by three brothers, Berton,
Sudbury, Ont.; Alex, Indian Harbour Lake, and Frank, Aspen;
four sisters, Martha (Mrs. Robert Kaiser), Bickerton;
Minnie (Mrs. Willie MacGrath), Aspen; Katie (Mrs. Graham Smith),
Sherbrooke, and Leta (Mrs. Ernest Jordan), Jordanville,
and several nieces and nephews.
The body is in St. Thomas Church, Indian Harbour Lake,
where funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday,
Rev. Eldie Richard officiating, with burial in Sunset Rest Cemetery.
