Final Tribute Paid to Late Charles White
SHERBROOKE - Charles E. White, better known as Roy White, died at work at the Halifax
Dockyards in Halifax on May 20.
Mr. White, his wife and family moved from Sherbrooke to Halifax two years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Georgie (nee Smith),
two daughters, Marsha (Mrs. Kenneth Boutilier) and Miss Elizabeth in Halifax;
four sons, Wayne and Michael at home,
Gordon, who is serving with the Armed Forces, Fredericton, N.B., and
Douglas, serving with the Armed Forces in Germany;
a sister Hilda and a brother Douglas, Wembley, Alta.;
also two grandsons.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles White,
a sister, Jean and a brother
Chester.
The remains rested at the Veinotte Funeral Home, Sherbrooke.
The funeral was held on Saturday from St. John's United Church with Rev. Robert Stevens
conducting the service.
Favorite hymns of the deceased, "Just a Closer Walk With Thee", was sung by Mrs. Lester
MacDonald and Miss Mildred MacMillan, and "Rock of Ages" by a combined choir from the village.
Pallbearers were Ira Swallow and Harry Pickorem of Halifax,
Thomas MacIntosh of Stillwater, James Cumminger, Frank Jordan and Calvin Carroll, all of
Sherbrooke.
Interment was at Riverside Cemetery in the family plot.
