MacDONALD, Mervyn Scott - 78, Halifax, formerly of Goldenville, Guysborough County,
died November 21, 1993, in the Halifax Infirmary Palliative Care Unit.
Born in Goldenville,
he was a son of the late Howard Scott and Margaret Jane (Cameron) MacDonald.
He retired from HMC Dockyard, Halifax in 1980.
He was an active member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Halifax;
elder in the Presbyterian Church of Canada for over 50 years;
veteran of the Second World War, serving in both Canada and overseas and
member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 56, Sherbrooke.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his wife, the former Emma Roberta Barron;
five daughters,
Reta (Mrs. Frank Tulloch) Sackville;
Audrey (Mrs. Ken Croft) Williamswood;
Pearl (Mrs. David Dauphinee) Sarnia, Ont.;
Brenda (Mrs. Ken Horton) Bedford;
Heather-Anne (Mrs. Trevor Nicholls) Toronto;
seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Everett Scott in infancy,
two sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth;
three brothers, Earle, Wallace, Neil.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in J.a. Snow Funeral Home, Windsor Street, Halifax.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Knox Presbyterian Church, Rev. George MacDonald Officiating.
Burial will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knox Presbyterian Church or any charity.
