Rev. Edward Sidney Hales

HALES, Rev. Edward Sidney - 86, Mulgrave, died Wednesday in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in London, Eng., he arrived in Canada at age 16.
He graduated from Ontario Bible College, Knox Presbyterian College, Toronto, and
served in various pastoral charges in Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia,
retiring in 1986 from Mulgrave pastoral charge.
He was a member of Temple Lodge No. 57 AF&AM, Mulgrave,
an honourary member of Royal Canadian Legion, Cambria Branch No. 37,
and was the oldest serving scoutmaster in Canada.
He is survived by his wife, the former Isabel Mason;
a son, Sidney, Mulgrave.
The body is in Trinity United Church, Mulgrave, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Lawrence Church, Mulgrave,
Rev. Karen MacLeod, assisted by Rev. Bernie McAdam, officiating.
Cremation to follow.
Committal service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke.
Donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A masonic service will be 8 p.m. Friday in Trinity United Church.
