SILVER, Dr. Gordon L. - 84, Sherbrooke, Guysborough County,
died February 18, 1996 in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Dr. Louis and Kathleen (Baker) Silver.
He received his education in Halifax and was the youngest graduate of Dalhousie Medical School.
He moved to Sherbrooke in 1933,
where he practised family medicine until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of the Nova Scotia Medical Association,
Nova Scotia Salmon Association,
Garcia Fishing Hall of Fame,
and served on the board of St. Mary's Memorial Hospital.
He was an avid fisherman, duplicate bridge player, and hunter.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are sons, John and wife Jackie, Sherbrooke;
Kenny and wife Janice, Dartmouth;
grandsons, Jerome, Robin, Gordon, Adam, Morgan;
granddaughters, Jennifer, Joyce, Amber and Jaide.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ruth McGrath.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service in St. James Presbyterian Church, Sherbrooke,
Rev. Carol Smith officiating.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, followed by a reception at the family residence.
Donations to St. Mary's Memorial Hospital.
