JONES, John Edward - 84, Stormont, Guysborough Co.,
died June 17, 1998 in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in North Ogden,
he was a son of the late John Joseph and Martha Ann (Munroe) Jones.
He worked at the Pictou shipyard for five years during war time,
was a woodsman for 15 years,
sold Raleigh products for eight years in Guysborough County,
drove a school bus for three years and operated Jones' Service Station and Convenience Store for 18 years.
Surviving are daughters,
Alice (Mrs. Charles Hill) Hopewell;
Mary (Mrs. James Rhynold); Carolyn (Mrs. Ernest Cameron) Country Harbour;
son, John, Alberta
sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Clarence Hudson) Antigonish;
Clara (Mrs. Fred Rhynold) Whitehead;
Annie (Mrs. Roland Worth) Merland;
Martha (Mrs. Donald Cameron) the United States;
brothers, Frederick, Argyle;
Gordon, Ontario;
16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Lydia Ann Rhynold;
daughter, Shirley MacIntosh;
brothers, Gordon and Gerald in infancy; George, Leonard, William;
three grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a great-great grandchild.
Funeral was Saturday in Stormont Union Church,
Rev. Bob Manly officiated.
Burial in Stormont Cemetery.
