Matthew L. McGrath
Sonora - Matthew Lorimer McGrath, 83, Sonora,
Guysborough County, died Sunday
in St. Mary's Hospital, Sherbrooke.
Born in Sonora, he was a son of the late
John and Helen (Bloom) McGrath.
He was a gold miner for the greater part of his life
and was the Municipal Councillor for the District
of St. Mary's for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Hazel Jack;
three sons; Gerald, Halifax; Calvin, Lower Sackville;
John, Sonora; one daughter, Judith, Lower Sackville;
nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers.
The body is in Sonora Baptist Church
where funeral will be Wednesday at 2pm,
Rev. Clinton Dunfield officiating,
with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Sonora.
