FITZGERALD, Rebecca Elizabeth - 94, Northwood Centre, Halifax, formerly
of Canso, died January 12, 1997, in the Centre. Born in Canso, she
was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Dugost) O'Hearn. She was
a member of Star of the Sea Parish, Canso. She was the last surviving
member of her immediate family. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Mary
Grandy [Grundy?], Halifax, Mrs. Marion Swaine, Lefroy, Ont.; sons, George,
Owen Sound, Ont.; James Austin, Halifax; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren
and several great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her
husband, Howard; sisters, Clara, Nina, Sadie, Alice; brothers, Pat, George,
Thomas. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 P.M. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral
Home, Canso. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday in Star of the Sea Church, Rev.
John Morrison officiating. Burial in parish cemetery. Donations to
any charity.
