Capt. George Jack
SHERBROOKE - Capt. George N. Jack, 82,
Sherbrooke, Guysborough County,
formerly of Port Bickerton, Guysborough County,
died Friday in St. Martha’s
Hospital,
Antigonish.
Born in Bickerton West, Guysborough County,
he was a son of the late John
and
Nettie (Kaiser) Jack.
He was a fisherman until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, the
former
Muriel Cameron;
three sons; Lloyd, London, Ontario; Evan and Robert, both of
Bickerton
West;
four daughters: Myrna (Mrs. Jerry Blanchard), P.E.I.;
Marie (Mrs.
Eddie Gerrior),
Monastery, Antigonish County;
Ruth (Mrs Calvin Fudge), Shelburne;
Nancy
(Mrs. Neil
Crawford), Nine Mile River;
17 grandchildren; a great-grandchild;
a sister,
Amy Kaiser,
Port Bickerton;
three brothers: Roy, Grafton; Douglas and Donald, both of
Port
Bickerton.
He was predeceased by two sons: James Douglas and Leander Bruce;
two
brothers: Harold and Bruce.
The remains are resting in Veinotte’s Funeral Home, Sherbrooke, with
visiting
between 7-9 p.m. today.
The remains will then be transferred to St. Paul’s
Anglican
Church,
Port Bickerton, with visitation from 7-9 p.m. Sunday
where funeral
will be 2 p.m.
Monday.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
