Margaret Jane (Hattie) MacDonald
Sherbrooke, June 21st,

Mrs. Margaret Jane (Hattie)MacDonald passed away
at her home here on Sunday,
following an illness of 15 months.
She was born in Caledonia, Guys. Co.,
On February 23, 1860,
the daughter of the late Daniel Hattie
and his wife Janet Sutherland.
Mrs. MacDonald lived in Sherbrooke since a child
of seven years of age, and was well known
in this community. Her husband James William MacDonald
predeceased her 14 years ago.
A woman of Christian character,
of a mild and generous disposition,
she was loved by all who knew her.
During her illness she was tenderly cared for
by her daughter and daughter-in-law.
Surviving a loving mother are her children
James and Florence, both at home.
Five weeks ago her only surviving sister Elinor
(Mrs. W.H. MacDonald) passed away at Martintown, Ontario.
Her funeral was held from the home at 2:30 p.m. On June 20th.
Choirs from both churches sang her familiar hymns
The Lord is My Shepherd,
There Is No Sorrow Lord Too Light,
and A Is For A Closer Walk With God.
The service was conducted by Rev .P.B. Chisholm, B.A.
of the United Church Congregation, assisted by
D.L. Elder of the Presbyterian Congregation.
Pallbearers were all relatives of the deceased.
Internment was in the family plot in Sherbrooke.
