A large gathering of citizens of this village
attended the funeral of the late Aubrey James MacDonald,
who passed away on February 28th
in his 73rd year.
He was the son of the late James Hugh MacDonald
and his late wife Annie Creed,
who for many years was post-mistress here.
For the past year Mr. MacDonald has made his home
with his kind neighbours, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scott,
who tenderly cared for him during the past year.
The funeral was held from the Scott home at 2 p.m.
on March 2nd . Hymns sung were
The Lords My Shepherd,
The Sands Of Time Are Sinking
and Abide With Me.
Rev. D.L. Elder and Rev. P.B. Chisholm officiated.
He is survived by a half-sister; Mrs. Charles Gould,
Providence R.I. and a half-brother;
John Hugh MacDonald., Residing here;
also several nieces and nephews.
A niece Mrs. Muriel Thomas, Halifax,
attended the funeral. His excellency James Scott MacDonald,
Canadian Ambassador to Brazil,
is a nephew of the deceased.
Pallbearers were Grant MacDonald, Lester MacKeen, Lester MacDonald,
Byron Scott, Mac Cruikshanks and Roy Cameron.
Internment was at Sherbrooke.
