CALLAHAN-John Hugh Bernard-73-Giants Lake, Guysbrough County, died June 4, 1994 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born at Glace Bay, he was a son of the late John and Mary (MacNeil) Callahan. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the Royal Canadian Artillery. He was a carpenter, woodsman and former miner. He is survived by four brothers, Sandy, Giants Lake; Jim, Antigonish; Joseph, Francis, both of Sudbury, Ont; five sisters, Theresa Hutton, Dartmouth; Anne (Mrs. Yon De Goey), Dewey, Ariz; Marie (Mrs. William Benoit), Bras d’Or; Pearl (Mrs. William MacDonald), Black Avon; Isabel Delorey, Pomquet; a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary, one in infancy, a brother in infancy. Funeral will be 11 a..m. today in St. Francis de Sales Church, Giants Lake, Rev. James Oliver officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery under the direction of MacIssac Funeral Home Ltd. Donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Cemetery Fund. Red Divider
