Mrs. Abner Charles Reid (Patience Reid)
Isaac’s Harbor, May 29 – There passed away recently at her home in Isaac’s Harbor, Mrs. A. C. Reid, wife of Capt. Reid, after an illness of some months duration.
Mrs. Reid had been a resident of Isaac’s Harbor for 40 years coming here from Port Hilford. Always well thought of by her neighbors and friends, Mrs. Reid’s going has left a saddened community. A life long member of the Baptist church, she always had the best interests of her church at heart. The loss will be keenly felt.
Mrs. Reid who was 75 years of age, leaves to mourn their loss her husband, Capt. A. C. Reid of Isaac’s Harbor, and two daughters, Lillian, Mrs. Harry Smith of Chicago, and Lucetta, Mrs. Harry Cox of Isaac’s Harbor, and one sister, Henrietta Buchannan, in the United States.
The funeral services was held from the family residence Friday afternoon, May 24, Rev. W. A. Harper officiating. The floral tributes were many and beautiful testifying to the esteem in which Mrs. Reid was held.
