KAISER, Alice Julia - 80,
Port Bickerton, Guysborough Co., died November 12, 1998, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Birch Grove, Cape Breton Co., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Henrietta (Noel) Ash. She was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Port Bickerton. She worked at Bickerton Industries for a short period of time and was a housewife and mother. She served with Canadian Women's Army Corps, during the Second World War. On December 1, 1942, she married Ellis Whitman Kaiser at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Halifax, having the first all military wedding in Halifax. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are daughter, Brenda (Mrs. Albert Graves), Shad Bay, Halifax Co.; son, Ellis (Donna), Port Bickerton; grandchildren, Lane, Michelle and David; great-grandchildren, Brett and Courtney; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ellis Whitman Kaiser; brothers, Herbert and Albert. Visitation for the late Alice Julia Kaiser will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m., both in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Port Bickerton, Rev. Brian Hutchins officiating. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery, Port Bickerton. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements entrusted to G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, Country Harbour.
