JOHNSTONE, Thirza Mae - 98, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Sunny Brae, died December 14, 1998, in the villa. Born in Cross Roads Country Harbour, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late John W. and Tena (White) Smith. She was a resident of Valley View Villa and Havenbrook Manor since 1991, prior to which she had been a resident of Sunny Brae for some 50 years. She was a member of Sunny Brae United Church and the UCW. Surviving are daughter, Elise (Mrs. Ford Fanning), Sunny Brae; sons, Albert, James, New Glasgow; George, Westville; Lewis, Sunny Brae; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, MacKay, New Glasgow; sister, Minnie Mathews, Guysborough. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander; son, Chalmers; brothers, Chalmers, Thomas, Bruce, Lewis; sister, Elise. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday in Zion United Church, Cross Road Country Harbour, Rev. Marjorie Cornelius and Rev. Robert Manley officiating. Burial in the United church cemetery, Cross Roads Country Harbour. Donations to Zion United Church, Sunny Brae United Church or any charity.
