Bears, Gertrude A.

Northwood Centre, Halifax, died April 17, 1999, in the Centre.
Born in Englee, Nfld., she was the eldest daughter of the late John and
Mary (Hynes) Brown. She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church,
Sherbrooke, and a former member of the Ladies Aid and WMS. Surviving
are sons, John (Shirley), Frederickton; Gordon (Bea), Boca Raton, Fla.;
daughter, Margaret ( John) Slaunwhite, Victoria, B.C.; grandchildren,
Heather Thomas, Vancouver; Jeffrey Slaunwhite, Victoria, B.C.; Barbara
Gadbois, Houston, Texas; sisters, Minnie and Marie;brothers, Jack, Jim
and Eddie. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; infant daughter,
Gertrude; brothers, George and Clayton. The body has been cremated.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Northwood
Centre on Tuesday at 10 a.m., Rev. Jim Anderson officiating. A graveside
service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
